Holland Conservation Commission

Minutes of Commission meeting held on June 26, 2012.

At the June 19, 2012 meeting of the Board of Selectmen, Nathan Gumlaw, Marcia Beal and Neal Byrne were re-appointed to the Conservation Commission.  They were sworn in by the Town Clerk, Kristin LaPlante prior to the meeting for another 3 years.

Robin Wilson gave us a check paying for the filing fee of a Notice of Intent for her project to renovate her home at 57 Mashapaug Rd.  Her Public Hearing is scheduled for July 10, 2012 at 7:30 p.m.

7:15 p.m.  The meeting was called to order.  Present were: Nathan Gumlaw, Chairperson, Neal Byrne, Marcia Beal, Patricia Caron, Mary Lovett, Marianne Martone and James Wettlaufer.  The minutes of June12, 2012 were read and accepted and will be distributed.

Members signed the Certificate of Compliance for Richard Polverari of 7 Sunset Lane.

Reports:
Marianne Martone reported having sent a letter to the abutters of the right-of-way on Mashapaug Rd. requesting that no digging, dumping be done in the right-of-way – EVER

James Wettlaufer spoke of the necessity to clean-up the overgrowth at the spillway at the dam.  The Highway Department will be required to submit a Request for Determination and a narrative of the work to be done.  The Public Hearing will be held on July 10, 2012 at 8:00 p.m.

7:30 p.m.  The scheduled Public Hearing for a Notice of Intent for Carlo J. DiLizia of 25 Candlewood Dr. to renovate a single family residence was held.  No abutters came.  Present were Steve Bressette of Jalbert Engineering, Carlo DiLizia and Gina Bellucci-DiLizia.  Steve Bressette reviewed the plot plan and project.  Pat Caron made the motion to accept the project, seconded by Nathan Gumlaw.  All were in favor of closing the Hearing at 7:45 p.m.

7:45 p.m.  Mark Farrell of Green Hill engineering having an appointment in Brimfield, requested that the scheduled Public Hearing for a Notice of Intent for Milton and Patricia Natusch of 19 Lakeridge Dr. to repair a septic system be continued to July 10, 2012 at 8:15-8:30 p.m.

7:50 p.m.  Chris Wszolek of 95 Mashapaug Rd., and Sparky Lamontagne of 109 Sandy Beach Rd., presented a narrative regarding their Aeration System for “The Cove” at the intersection of Sandy Beach Rd. and May Brook Rd.  They were informed that they are required to submit a Request for Determination.  The Public Hearing will be held on July 10, 2012 at 7:15 p.m.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
